Percival Lowell Society

When Percival Lowell died in 1916, he set aside funds from his estate to help support the Observatory’s operating expenses. His gift set the Observatory on a path of financial sustainability for many decades. In these times of reduced government grants for science, an estate gift to Lowell is just as important as it was then.

In 2002, we created the Percival Lowell Society to recognize individuals who create gifts to Lowell Observatory through their wills, trusts, and other estate planning vehicles. By including Lowell in your plans, you are supporting our next 100 years of astronomical exploration, education, and outreach. Your gift ensures that a new generation of astronomers can change the way we see our Universe.
